Adega is the Portuguese word for tavern. A place where the locals enjoy their wine, beer and simple food.
You can eat here simple local food, for example petiscos (teh Portuguese version of tapas) with local cheese, olvie oil sausages. My favorite is the cacholeira (Cacholeira branca de Portalegre), a spicy sausage with pig’s liver, kidney and bacon. very delicous!
Sometimes, without any warning, the locals just put down their cigars and cigarettes and start to sing!
